Hi! My name is Alexis Richardson. I have been a Pediatric Occupational Therapist for 10 years. I always thought I wanted to be a physical therapist so I’m high school I observed physical therapists for a career class I had. When I was observing the physical therapists, a lot of kids were crying in pain. I looked across the room and saw another type of therapists working with children playing games and having fun. I asked my supervisor if they were physical therapists too and she said no those are occupational therapists. I was intrigued and asked if I could also observe an occupational therapist on one of my career days and they agreed. When observing the occupational therapist, I noticed the children were not crying in pain but laughing and having fun. The occupational therapist told me help people  do what they call “activities of daily living” and for children playing is one of their main activities so they help them play. From the day forward I knew I wanted to be an occupational therapist and here I am almost 15 years later “playing” for my job! 

I specialize in all things fine motor, sensory, torticollis, and a variety of feeding issues. I have been certified as a feeding specialist and have 9 years of feeding experience. I have worked in the schools, outpatient clinics, hospitals, and early intervention. I currently live in Danville Indiana and serve families in Hendricks county.
